I started my photography business with the idea that it will allow families to have portraits taken more often than they currently do. So many times we think back and say "Why didn't we have a portrait taken when the baby was born." Or, "I wish we'd had one more family portrait done before the children all grew up." Having family portraits taken can be very expensive, which tends to be a large reason why families don't have it done regularly.

Why do I want to do this? There are several reasons.
1. I love photography. I take hundreds of photos of my children each year and have learned how difficult it is to get that perfect shot and I know from experience how frustrating it is to not have photographs that you wish you had.
2. I want families to feel like having a portraits taken does NOT equal breaking the bank. So many photographers charge large sitting fees and printing fees because they have to pay for their studios. I do all my photography outdoors, where the lighting is natural. I don't have to pay for a studio, lights, etc. You handle the printing, so I don't charge for that unless you request larger prints.
3. I feel like a family should own the copyright to their family portraits. That just seems logical to me.

My hope is that families will feel like they can afford to have a family portrait taken at least once a year. It is amazing, the changes that can occur in that time frame and it is wonderful to be able to document them for future generations.
